We partner with each client to develop and implement the investment strategy to meet their needs. The degree of delegation depends on the time, resource and expertise that the client can allocate.

Some clients look to Mercer for not just advise, but also to implement our investment ideas on their behalf. Solutions range from the construction of single asset class or diversified portfolios based on Mercer’s global manager research to the full implementation of a long-term strategic plan.

SERVICES INCLUDE

Green arrow FIDUCIARY MANAGEMENT

Asset class or ‘Single Sleeve’ solutions. We can help provide solutions for asset classes in which clients may lack expertise or may not have sufficient investment to be able to involve a diversified portfolio of managers. For example these include high yield fixed income, alternatives or emerging market debt.

We can provide an implemented solution to assume decision making authority with manager research and selection to asset allocation and execution. This enables the client to focus on investment strategy but still retain active daily oversight of the investments.

Green arrow INVESTMENT DE-RISKING

We help clients create a dynamic de-risking plan for their pension assets. The client can choose to delegate responsibility for daily monitoring of all aspects of the plan to enhance gains and protect against market risks.

Green arrow JOINT INVESTMENT SOLUTIONS

For clients with larger investments, we can develop a fund solution in which the client has a higher degree of influence on the investment objectives and manager structure.

Mercer has nearly two decades of experience of executing investment decisions. Mercer’s Investments' solutions include portfolio construction and funds management using Mercer’s own suite of investment funds and options. As of 31 December 2011, clients have invested more than US$58bn* of assets in these solutions globally.
